Gazing into Deep Space: Announcing Eddie James' New Punk Single "Looking At Mars"
I am excited to announce the release of a high-energy new single with UK artist Eddie James titled Looking At Mars!
While many of our past collaborations have explored the realms of Blues, Rock and Fusion, Eddie brought a raw, driving Punk edge to this track. It was an absolute blast to step into this genre and lay down guitar tracks alongside an amazing international crew.
The Track & Global Lineup
Looking At Mars combines driving rhythm sections, gritty riffs, and punchy vocals into an energetic Punk anthem. The track is a true cross-border collaboration brought together through the Kompoz community:
Eddie James (UK) – Lyrics, Composition, Drums & Vocals
PJ Lucidi (Italy) – Guitars
Mitch Brody (USA) – Guitars
AKA - Willaway (USA) – Rhythm Guitars
Having three guitarists on one track allowed us to build a wall of sound. AKA - Willaway locked down the rhythm foundation, Mitch Brody added biting guitar layers, and I focused on adding dynamic guitar tracks that punch through the mix with raw energy.
Recording the Guitars: Gear & Tone
To capture the aggressive, high-octane tone needed for a Punk track while maintaining clarity in a three-guitar arrangement, I turned to my trusty home studio setup:
Guitar: My custom Noro PL Signature Series ("PierCaster") Super Strat, hand-built in Italy by luthier Davide Noro. Its single-piece alder body and custom MaMa pickups provide incredible punch and articulation even under heavy overdrive.
Amp & Effects: Fractal Audio FM3 modeler, dialed in for an organic, biting tube-amp distortion.
DAW: Recorded and tracked directly inside Reaper.
